GOAL assessments from EDI are trusted in over 600 schools to measure pupils' progress and performance in Key Stages 1-3. Available in English, Mathematics, Science, ICT and Life Skills, teachers use them in many ways including assessment for learning (identifying pupils' strengths and weaknesses); assessment of learning (providing a snapshot of what has been learned at any given time) and to support personalised learning (information to help plan effective teaching and learning opportunities for each pupil). Assessments in national curriculum subjects are aligned with levels, thus supporting target setting and tracking pupils' progress. The assessments are delivered and marked online and reports delivered in a matter of minutes. It is these sophisticated reports that enable teachers to use the assessments in a wide variety of ways. For more information download the Guide to interpreting GOAL reports. The reports have also helped schools to prepare for Ofsted inspections, improve their overall performance and climb league tables. GOAL online assessments are supported by both the National Association of Head Teachers and the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, and over 3.5 million online assessments have been delivered to schools since GOAL was introduced.
